Meet Mobile Family Sharing on Android: Why It Doesn’t Work

One family, several Android phones, one paid subscription — and the app still says “you don’t have a subscription.” Here is what is actually happening, what you can try, and a free way to follow your swimmer’s results without another paywall.

The quick answer

On Android, a Meet Mobile subscription is attached to the Google Play account that bought it — not to the Meet Mobile username your family signs in with. That is why signing into the same Meet Mobile account on your wife’s phone or your son’s phone still shows “no subscription.”

iOS can share an eligible subscription through Apple Family Sharing. Android does not have an equivalent for most in-app subscriptions unless the developer adds it. So there is no reliable official way to make one Android purchase cover several family members’ phones.

If you just want to follow swim results, you do not need to pay again. Swim Buddy is free, needs no account, and works on every phone in the family.

Why Meet Mobile family sharing fails on Android

It is not usually a forgotten password. It is a mismatch between three different things: the app login, the app store account, and the subscription entitlement.

Google Play owns the purchase

The subscription lives in the Google account that paid for it. A different Google account on your phone means a different entitlement.

No Apple-style family sharing

Apple Family Sharing can cover eligible iOS subscriptions. Google Play does not share most in-app subscriptions across a family by default.

Same login ≠ same access

Your Meet Mobile account can be signed in on several devices, but the paid check still looks at the store account on each device.

What to try before you pay for another subscription

  1. 1

Check which Google account owns the subscription

On the phone that paid, open Google Play → tap your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Note the exact Google account. On the other phones, confirm Play is signed into that same account before opening Meet Mobile.

  2. 2

Restore the purchase, then restart the app

Update Meet Mobile, look for a “restore purchases” option, sign out and back in, and reopen the app. If you changed Google accounts, clear the app’s cache and try again.

  3. 3

Contact the developer with your order number

Find the GPA order number in your Google Play receipt and contact Active support through the Meet Mobile listing. Ask specifically whether family sharing is supported on Android. A support agent can check the entitlement; family members cannot fix it from their own phones.

  4. 4

Request a refund if the purchase was misrepresented

Google Play handles refunds for Play purchases. If you paid expecting family sharing that does not exist, request a refund through Play and explain the situation. Refund decisions are made by Google and the developer.

Can I sign into Meet Mobile on several phones at once?

Sometimes, yes — but that is not the same as sharing the subscription. On Android, the app can still check the Google Play account on each device and decide that the phone has not paid. A shared Meet Mobile login does not transfer a Google Play entitlement, and sharing passwords is not a supported or safe family plan.

This is the core frustration in many recent reviews: a family pays once, signs in with the same Meet Mobile account, and still hits a paywall on the second Android phone. The app login and the store purchase are simply not the same thing.

Frequently asked questions

Why can’t my family share a Meet Mobile subscription on Android?

On Android, Meet Mobile purchases go through Google Play Billing. Access is tied to the Google account that bought the subscription, not just to the Meet Mobile username you sign in with. Google Play does not provide Apple-style Family Sharing for most in-app subscriptions unless the developer specifically enables it, which is why one subscription can work on an iPhone family but not on an Android household.

My wife pays for Meet Mobile, but my phone says I don’t have a subscription. Why?

Your phone is probably signed into a different Google Play account. Signing into the same Meet Mobile account does not move the purchase from her Google account to yours. Check Play Store > profile > Payments & subscriptions on both phones and confirm which Google account owns the subscription.

Can I sign into Meet Mobile on my wife’s and son’s phones at the same time?

You can often be signed into the same Meet Mobile account on several devices, but on Android the paid entitlement is still checked against the Google Play account on each phone. That is why being “logged in” can still show “no subscription.” Sharing one login is also not a supported family-sharing feature, and sharing passwords is not recommended.

Does Meet Mobile have family sharing on Android?

As of October 2026, users consistently report that Android does not have an Apple-style family-sharing option for Meet Mobile subscriptions, while iOS users can share through Apple Family Sharing. Features and policies can change, so check the current Meet Mobile listing and support pages before buying.

Why does Meet Mobile say I don’t have an account when I am logged in?

Meet Mobile has two separate identities: your Meet Mobile login and the Google Play account that holds the purchase. A session or account-sync problem, an out-of-date app, or a different Play account can make a paid user look unpaid. Try updating the app, confirming the Play account, restoring the purchase, then contacting Active support with your Google Play order number.

How do I get a refund for a Meet Mobile subscription on Android?

Open Google Play, tap your profile, then Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions, and request a refund. Google generally handles refund requests made shortly after purchase; after that, contact the developer through the Play Store listing with your GPA order number. Refund eligibility is decided by Google and the developer, not by Swim Buddy.

Is there a free Meet Mobile alternative for Android and iPhone?

Yes. Swim Buddy is a free, browser-based way to follow swim meets, results, and swimmer times. There is no app-store subscription, no Meet Mobile login, and no family-sharing limit. Anyone you send a link to can open it on Android or iPhone.

Can grandparents follow swim results without an account?

With Swim Buddy, yes. Send them a link to the meet or swimmer page and they can view results in a browser. They do not need to create an account, install an app, or pay for a subscription.
